On today's Sportsman's Adventures, we travel to one of our favorite fishing destinations. Just off Florida's south east coast are the islands of the Bahamas... thousands of square miles of very fishy water. In fact, there are over 700 islands and small cays surrounded by shallow, sandy flats and deep blue ocean waters. Shallow water channels crisscross through these flats, creating perfect highways for the snapper and grouper that regularly travel these under-water-ways. Capt. Rick Murphy and his special guest Capt. Pat Dineen are armed with light spinning and plug casting gear. Rick lays out the plan for the day... |

On Today's Sportsman's Adventures we travel to the beautiful Gilchrist Club located in the heart of north central Florida, Capt. Rick Murphy and his son, Ridge, are joining good friend Jim Owens for some of the finest hunting and fishing that this state has to offer. We'll start the day quail hunting and for that safety is number 1... for both the hunters and the dogs. Taking a young hunter into the woods makes hunter safety the most important lesson and our guide Marty Malloy tells us what to expect. |

On today's Sportsman's Adventure we travel to one of our favorite fishing holes... Everglades National Park to fish in the prestigious Herman Lucerne Memorial Tournament. This backcountry fishing event is in its 8th year and honors the memory of a man who loved and fished the park better than anyone else. Seventy anglers aboard 51 boats fished this 2-day event where awards are given to the largest fish caught in each of seven categories. The tournament also gives away seventy-five-thousand dollars in prizes as well as a brand new Maverick Micro-Mirage boat. We'll follow the progress of tournament host, Capt. Rick Murphy and his anglers, Mitch Williamson from Screen Print Plus and his good friend, Rick Knight. |

Anglers have been coming to the Keys and South Florida for many years... creating many fishing memories during that time. Quite a few of those moments were caught on vintage fishing films that were shot right here. The good news is that the International Game Fish Association is where these classic films are kept and they are available for viewing by the public. The museum has over 2-thousand vintage fishing reels dating all the way back to the 1930s. Let's go back in time to view some of the greatest treasures the museum has to offer. |
