Since the time of his retirement to the Florida Keys in 1995, Haddad has dedicated his free time to serving as producer, photographer, and writer for Sportsman's Adventures television shows. His design of underwater camera gear and photography techniques has helped bring Sportsman's Adventures viewers close to fish in their natural environment.

Previous to moving to Key Largo, Haddad was the news resource manager and senior photographer with WTVJ News, an NBC affiliate in Miami, Florida, where he won numerous awards and commendations for his work. These honors include such prestigious tributes as the National Peabody and National DuPont Awards, and five National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmys.

Barkey and his wife Joanne are living the dream, raising two daughters who love fishing and the outdoors. He and his family regularly fish out of their Maverick Flats Skiff in the waters off Key Largo and Everglades National Park.

"There's more to fishing than catching and keeping fish," said Haddad. "It's a lifestyle predicated on sharing the sunrise and everything you see on the water with your family and friends. It'll touch you deep into your soul."

Following his philosophy about sharing what he sees on the water with other anglers, Haddad is committed to capturing the entire scene, with it's wildlife, natural beauty and excitement in every show.

"We want to take you to places you'll want to go to," said Haddad. "I want you to watch a show and think, "Wow, that's beautiful. I need to share that with my family and friends."
